DENVER – Russell Wilson is working hard to adjust to a new offense after the Seattle Seahawks traded him to the Denver Broncos. At one point, Wilson had three main receivers that could he throw to. Unfortunately, that changed recently with the grim news that Tim Patrick went down with a season-ending injury.

Patrick became a household name after he had some incredible performances last season. However, the team struggled at key points during the season and never recovered from the brutal losses. The losses snowballed and there was no climbing out of this snow-covered mountain of losses.

There are injuries on the offensive line too, particularly at Right Tackle that could stop Wilson from developing rapport with his receivers. Ar the very least, Wilson’s progress and rapport building will slow down significantly. In such a tough division, it’s never good to have the development of your quarterback slow down at all. The Broncos have six really tough games against the suddenly loaded Kansas City Chiefs offense with Patrick Mahomes, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skye Moore, Marquez Valdez-Scantling, and Travis Kelce, two brutal games against the top five quarterback Justin Herbert with his dynamic duo of receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as well as a possibly developing running back in Austin Ekeler. On top of that, going against the revamped Las Vegas Raiders with the former Fresno State dynamic duo of Quarterback Derek Carr and Receiver DeVante Adams will be a chess match, not to mention slowing down Tight End Darren Waller and Running Back Josh Jacobs.

Now the pressure could be taken off with the Running Back duo of Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon. Wilson usually succeeds with a team that runs the ball effectively so he fits the scheme.

There will be an uphill, or mountain climb, for the Denver Broncos. If this team is on a quick rebuild, it’s going to be one rugged season. Things won’t likely fall into ace so quickly. The players will need time to build rapport and time is running out to do so with a conceivable chance to be in the playoff picture right out of the gate.
