Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2021-22 Against All Odds Champion?

Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks

Week 17

It’s the last week of the NFL regular season, and the final game of the college football schedule with Alabama going up against Georgia in the National Championship.

Next up is Wild Card weekend in the NFL…

With just a few short weeks left, my dad added another two games to my deficit, which now stands at four games back. Last week sucked for me, as I went a superb 3-8, while dad went 5-6.

Perhaps the ball will bounce my way this week.

Against All Odds Lines as of 1/8/2022

NCAA

Monday, January 10th

National Championship

#3 Georgia (13-1) at #1 Alabama (13-1)

Game Time: 8:00 PM at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN.

Vegas Line: Georgia -2.5

The Pick: PSN: Alabama | MJD: Alabama

Boring… Same old same old… just another SEC Championship Game. Wake me when there is a true playoff format in college football.

NFL

Sunday, January 9th

Pittsburgh (8-7-1) at Baltimore (8-8)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD.

Vegas Line: Baltimore -5.5

The Pick: PSN: Pittsburgh | MJD: Baltimore

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers stick it to Baltimore one final time, as #7 Hall of Fame career comes to an end… or will it?

Green Bay (13-3) at Detroit (2-13-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Ford Field, Detroit, MI.

Vegas Line: Green Bay -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Green Bay | MJD: Green Bay

The Packers will still be playing for the #1 seed, so it’s probably going to be beat down city for the Lions.

Chicago (6-10) at Minnesota (7-9)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN.

Vegas Line: Minnesota -2.5

The Pick: PSN: Minnesota | MJD: Minnesota

Meaningless game, but I like the Vikings offense to do enough to make the cover.

Indianapolis (9-7) at Jacksonville (2-14)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville, FL.

Vegas Line: Indianapolis -15.5

The Pick: PSN: Indianapolis | MJD: Jacksonville

The Steelers need to win and Jacksonville needs to wi— yea, not going to happen.

Tennessee (11-5) at Houston (4-12)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at NRG Stadium, Houston, TX.

Vegas Line: Tennessee -10.5

The Pick: PSN: Tennessee | MJD: Tennessee

The Titans need a win to secure the #1 seed.

San Francisco (9-7) at LA Rams (12-4)

Game Time: 4:25 PM at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA.

Vegas Line: LA Rams -4.5

The Pick: PSN: LA Rams | MJD: LA Rams

I like the Rams to punish their division rivals here.

New England (10-6) at Miami (8-8)

Game Time: 4:25 PM at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL.

Vegas Line: New England -6.5

The Pick: PSN: New England | MJD: Miami

New England rolled last week and should put down a Miami team that saw it’s slim playoff hopes end last week after a seven game winning streak.

Seattle (6-10) at Arizona (11-5)

Game Time: 4:25 PM at State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ.

Vegas Line: Arizona -5.5

The Pick: PSN: Arizona | MJD: Arizona

Arizona needs to bring their game together and fine tune some issues before the playoffs begin.

LA Chargers (9-7) at Las Vegas (9-7)

Game Time: 8:20 PM at Allegiant Stadium

Vegas Line: LA Chargers -3.5

The Pick: PSN: LA Chargers | MJD: Las Vegas

Technically, both of these teams could get in if the Steelers and Jacksonville both win, and this game ends in a tie.
