GREEN BAY- The oldest rivalry in the NFL continues as the 4-8 Chicago Bears take on the 9-3 Green Bay Packers in what could be another exciting showdown. The Bears need to get into a rhythm but this doesn’t necessarily mean the Packers are going to have a cakewalk in this one.
Will Bears quarterback Justin Fields shock the Packers defense and lead Chicago to an improbable road win? The Bears season is pretty much over and there isn’t much of a chance of making the playoffs. However, defeating the Packers at Lambeau Field would be a nice feather in Fields’ cap. Will receivers Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney have big nights? Will Chicago’s running game get on track? Something good has to happen for the Bears to show progress. Any bit of improvement will be a good sign for this team.
Aaron Rodgers is looking to lead the Packers to a win and potential number one seed. Running back Aaron Jones and receiver DeVante Adams will provide the Packers offense with the much-needed balance.
As much as this game could feature a lot of points, the defenses will likely take over. This contest features two of the top 10 defenses. This will be an old-school, smash-mouth style of football. The Packers have the seventh-best defense while the Bears have the ninth-best defense in the league statistically.
Even though both teams are heading in opposite directions, both will treat this like a playoff game. The atmosphere and vibe at Lambeau Field will be electric. Despite their records, both teams will do everything they can to gain the upper hand. This is more than just a game after all. This is for bragging rights.
Rodgers will be under pressure throughout the game. However, rookie Fields will be under even more pressure as the Packers defense will look to test the rookie quarterback’s progress. This game will help determine if Fields is truly the franchise quarterback for the Bears.
Prediction
This will be a low-scoring contest that will feature plenty of defense.
