With just three weeks before the ACC tournament takes place at the Barclays Center in New York, teams are doing everything they can to position themselves to make that run that gets them into the field of 68.

With last Wednesday’s 30-point effort VS Boston College, Pittsburgh Senior Michael Young passes Sam Clancy for 10th place on Pitt’s all-time scoring list. He is also closing in on the top ten in rebounding as well. Along with fellow Senior Jamel Artis, they ranked one and two in conference scoring. The duo has combined for 43 double-figure scoring games, including 23 games with 20 or more points scored.

Notre Dame Senior Bonnie Colson delivered his league leading 15th double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds as the Fighting Irish got back on the winning side of things with an 88-81 win over Wake Forest last week. They overcame a monster game from Sophomore Center John Collins who posted his seventh consecutive game with 20 or more points, after dropping 24 and 14 on ND.

For the third time this season, NC State’s Dennis Smith Jr. has been named rookie of the week. Smith’s season includes four games with 30 or more points tying Kenny Anderson of Georgia Tech for the most 30 point games by a freshman.

Another player that has been putting up some big numbers this year is Florida State’s Dwayne Bacon. The Sophomore can be penciled in for double figures every night. In fact, he has been doing this for the past 33 straight games and also ranks 10th in the league in points per game at 17.1 a game. The guard has scored in double-figures in 55 of his last 58 career games.

Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski earned his 500th win at Cameron Indoor Stadium, with the Blue Devils win over Pittsburgh on February 4. The coach returned to the bench altering missing the previous seven games due to a back injury.

Miami senior guard Davon Reed finished with a career-high 26 points and seven made three-pointers to go along with seven rebounds in a win at NC State. Reed has knocked down 44 shots from long range in the past 14 games.
