Here is the official AP Top 25 Poll for Week 8:
Key Movers and Shakers
The Risers
- Indiana (Up 4 Spots to No. 3): The Hoosiers made the biggest jump in the top 10 after their massive road victory over Oregon. The No. 3 ranking is the highest in program history and earns them three first-place votes.
- Texas A&M (Up 1 Spot to No. 4): The Aggies leapfrogged Ole Miss into the top four following a solid win over Florida, cementing their case as a top-tier SEC contender.
- Alabama (Up 2 Spots to No. 6): The Crimson Tide earned a quality road win over a ranked Missouri team, continuing their climb back toward the top five.
- Texas (Re-enters at No. 21): After falling out of the poll entirely last week, the Longhorns vaulted back in thanks to their dominant performance over rival Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.
- USC (Re-enters at No. 20): The Trojans’ comprehensive victory over No. 15 Michigan sent them back into the rankings.
- New Entrants: USC (20), Texas (21), Utah (23), Cincinnati (24), and Nebraska (25) all enter the poll this week.
The Fallers
- Oregon (Down 5 Spots to No. 8): The Ducks’ 18-game home winning streak ended with the loss to Indiana, dropping them to their lowest ranking this season.
- Oklahoma (Down 8 Spots to No. 14): The Sooners took the steepest fall in the poll after a humiliating loss to unranked Texas, severely damaging their playoff hopes.
- Missouri (Down 2 Spots to No. 16): The Tigers dropped modestly after their first loss of the season, a close battle with Alabama.
- Dropped Out: The major losses this week knocked several ranked teams out of the poll, including Michigan (previously 15), Illinois (previously 17), Iowa State (previously 22), Arizona State (previously 21), and Florida State (previously 25).
