Boston College Eagles Continue Busy Stretch at N.C. State on Wednesday

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. N.C. STATE – ALL-TIME SERIES

  • Today’s game marks the 27th meeting between the two schools. N.C. State holds a 15-12 lead in the all-time series.
  • In ACC regular-season play, the Eagles are 8-14 vs. N.C. State. The Wolfpack swept the 2020-21 regular-season series.
  • BC is 3-9 all-time at N.C. State, losing its last nine games in Raleigh.

ZACKERY IN RARE ACC COMPANY

  • Jaeden Zackery posted a complete stat line vs. Florida State.
  • The freshman guard had 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals while committing one turnover in 35 minutes of play.
  • His rebounds, assists, and steals totals were all season-highs.
  • Over the last 25 seasons, only one other player posted that stat line or better in an ACC game.
  • Georgia Tech’s Iman Shumpert did so against Virginia Tech on Jan. 25, 2011 (22 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 7 steals).

BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOR CAPTAIN CANADA

  • James Karnik registered his second consecutive double-double, logging 16 points and 11 rebounds against Florida State.
  • It was his fourth double-double of the season and 16th of his college career.
  • The last BC player to register a double-double in consecutive games was Steffon Mitchell.
  • The recent BC grab did so on Feb. 26, 2020, vs. Notre Dame (12p/11r) and on March 3, 2020, against Syracuse (11r/10a).
  • Mitchell was also the last BC player to log two straight double-doubles in points and rebounds, on Dec. 10 & 15, 2019.

MAKING THEIR POINT

  • Over the last five games, Boston College’s primary playmakers have been highly efficient.
  • In addition to scoring 13.6 points per game, Jaeden Zackery has registered 22 assists to five turnovers (4.40:1 Assist/TO).
  • The freshman has also notched 16 steals over the last four ball games (3.20:1 Steal/TO).
  • Makai Ashton-Langford has dished out 28 assists to 12 turnovers (2.33:1 ATR) while logging nine steals (0.75:1 Steal/TO).
  • Ashton-Langford registered new career-highs in assists (9) and steals (4) against Florida State.
  • On the season, both Zackery and Ashton-Langford rank among the top 25 in the ACC in assist/TO and steal/TO ratios.

  • Over his last six games, DeMarr Langford Jr. is averaging 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

ZACKERY MAKING AN IMPACT

  • Jaeden Zackery ranks third on BC in scoring (9.9), second in assists (2.7), and first in steals (1.7) this season.
  • Among all ACC first-year players, Zackery ranks seventh in scoring, third in assists, and first in steals.
  • With 44 steals, Jaeden Zackery is tied for the fifth-most swipes in a season by a Boston College freshman.
  • Dana Barros holds the freshman single-season mark – 57 – set during the 1985-96 season.  Ryan Sidney (56, 2000-01), Duane Woodward (55, 1994-95), Troy Bell (47, 1999-00), and Jared Dudley (44, 2003-04) round out the top five.
  • He has reached double-digits 12 times and has led the Eagles in scoring on six occasions.
  • Against Syracuse on Feb. 8, he had a team-high 18 points with season-bests in rebounds (6), assists (6), and steals (3).
