Week 4 brings another busy slate for Pinellas County high school football. Several teams face important tests on September 10 and 11. Meanwhile, a few matchups could shape district races later this season. Clearwater enters Week 4 with plenty of momentum. East Lake also carries a strong record into another Thursday night test. Several other teams need wins to keep pace in their districts. Here is a complete look at the Week 4 schedule. I also picked the games that deserve the most attention.
Clearwater at St. Petersburg
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. This matchup stands out as one of Week 4’s biggest games. Clearwater enters the contest with a perfect 3-0 record. The Tornadoes have already beaten East Lake and Countryside this season. St. Petersburg also enters with momentum after beating Palm Harbor University 13-0. The Green Devils improved to 1-1 with that victory. Now, they face their toughest challenge of the young season. Clearwater’s offense has shown plenty of firepower already. Jaysean Glenn gives the Tornadoes another dangerous weapon at quarterback. However, St. Petersburg’s defense could make this matchup interesting.
Calvary Christian at Clearwater Central Catholic
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. This private-school matchup deserves plenty of attention. Both programs entered Week 4 with undefeated records. Calvary Christian started the season 3-0 after beating Victory Christian 54-28. The Warriors also showed serious offensive balance in that victory. They produced 327 rushing yards and 306 passing yards. Clearwater Central Catholic also opened the season 2-0. The Marauders defeated Palmetto and Port Charlotte in their first games. Now, Calvary provides a much different challenge. This game could become one of Pinellas County’s best contests. Both teams have playoff expectations, making every possession important.
East Lake at Gaither
Thursday, September 10 — 7 p.m. East Lake gets Week 4 started on Thursday night. The Eagles travel to Tampa for a matchup with Gaither. East Lake enters with a 2-1 record. The Eagles crushed Osceola 55-7 in their previous game. Brian Ford continues to headline an explosive East Lake offense. Gaither also presents a significant challenge. The Cowboys entered the matchup with a 2-1 record. This game should provide a strong test for East Lake. It also gives the Eagles another opportunity to build momentum.
Largo at Sickles
Thursday, September 10 — 7 p.m. Largo also plays on Thursday night. The Packers travel to face Sickles in a non-Pinellas matchup. Largo enters with a 3-0 record after three impressive victories. The Packers most recently defeated Tarpon Springs 46-12. Their offense has produced 310 passing yards per game so far. Sickles enters the matchup with a 1-2 record. Therefore, Largo will enter with plenty of confidence. Still, road games can create different challenges. Largo cannot afford to overlook a team looking for a turnaround.
Northeast at Hollins
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. Northeast travels to Hollins for an important county matchup. The Vikings opened the season with a victory over Indian Rocks Christian. Northeast dominated that game by a 48-17 score. The Vikings also produced 357 rushing yards in the victory. Hollins enters this matchup after losing to Seminole 22-14. The Royals still showed enough progress to make this interesting. This game could provide an important opportunity for both programs. Northeast wants to build momentum after its strong opening victory. Hollins needs a win after a difficult start.
Pinellas Park at Osceola
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. Pinellas Park travels to Osceola for a district matchup. The Patriots enter with a 1-2 record. Pinellas Park earned its first victory last week at Dunedin. The Patriots defeated the Falcons 14-6 in that contest. Osceola enters with a 0-3 record. However, the Warriors have played several competitive opponents already. This matchup gives both teams an important opportunity. A victory could provide a major boost for either program.
Gibbs at Tarpon Springs
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. Gibbs travels to Tarpon Springs for another important matchup. The Gladiators enter after losing 26-14 to East Bay. Gibbs showed some passing ability during that loss. However, the Gladiators need more consistency on offense. Tarpon Springs also enters after a difficult Week 3 result. Largo defeated the Spongers 46-12 last Friday. Therefore, both teams have something to prove. This matchup could become a key bounce-back opportunity.
Boca Ciega at Lakewood
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. This St. Petersburg-area matchup also deserves attention. Boca Ciega enters after a dominant victory over St. Petersburg. The Pirates defeated the Green Devils 48-7 in their opener. They then entered Week 4 with a 2-0 record. Lakewood enters with a 0-2 record. The Spartans have faced difficult competition early this season. Lakewood needs a strong performance against a confident Boca Ciega team. Meanwhile, Boca Ciega can strengthen its early-season momentum.
Seminole at Anclote
Friday, September 11 — 7:30 p.m. Seminole travels to Anclote after earning its first win. The Warhawks defeated Hollins 22-14 last Friday. That victory marked progress for a program rebuilding after 2025. Seminole finished last season without a victory. Now, the Warhawks have a chance to build on that breakthrough. Anclote presents another opportunity for Seminole to gain confidence.
Indian Rocks Christian vs. Keswick Christian
Friday, September 11 — 7 p.m. This independent matchup features two Pinellas County programs. Indian Rocks Christian hosts Keswick Christian. IRC enters after losing 48-17 to Northeast. Keswick enters the game with a perfect 3-0 record. The Crusaders have played strong football early this season. They also defeated Bishop McLaughlin in their previous game. IRC needs a strong response after its Week 3 loss. Meanwhile, Keswick wants to keep its unbeaten start alive.
Northside Christian vs. Somerset Academy-Canyons
Friday, September 11 — 7 p.m. Northside Christian hosts Somerset Academy-Canyons in another matchup. The Mustangs enter with a 0-3 record. Northside has faced a difficult schedule to open the season. Now, the Mustangs get another chance to find their first win. Somerset Academy-Canyons also enters without a victory. That makes this matchup especially important for both programs.
Palm Harbor University at Parrish Community
Friday, September 11 — 7 p.m. Palm Harbor University travels to Parrish Community this week. The Hurricanes enter after losing 13-0 to St. Petersburg. PHU still searches for its first win of the season. Parrish Community enters after beating Bayshore 35-13. The Hurricanes need a strong offensive performance. They also need to limit mistakes against Parrish.
St. Petersburg Catholic vs. SFA Academy
Friday, September 11 — 7 p.m. St. Petersburg Catholic hosts SFA Academy on Friday night. The Barons entered Week 4 with a 1-2 record. St. Petersburg Catholic opened the year with a win over Gibbs. The Barons then dropped games against Tampa Catholic and Lennard. Now, they return home looking to regain momentum. SFA Academy provides another non-district challenge.
Shorecrest Prep at Classical Academy
Friday, September 11 — 7 p.m. Shorecrest Prep travels to Sarasota for another interesting matchup. The Chargers entered Week 4 with a 2-1 record. Shorecrest opened the season with two victories. However, Countryside Christian handed the Chargers their first loss. Classical Academy also enters with a 1-1 record. This game gives Shorecrest another chance to rebound quickly.
The Week 4 Must-Watch List
Several games stand above the rest this week. Clearwater at St. Petersburg gets the top spot. The Tornadoes bring an undefeated record into a county rivalry. Calvary Christian at Clearwater Central Catholic comes next. Both teams enter with unbeaten records and serious playoff goals. East Lake at Gaither also deserves plenty of attention. The Eagles have looked explosive after their 55-7 victory. Boca Ciega at Lakewood could provide another intriguing matchup. Boca Ciega has already shown impressive offensive potential. Finally, Pinellas Park at Osceola carries major district importance. Both teams need a victory to change their early-season direction. Week 4 should provide plenty of storylines across Pinellas County. Several teams can strengthen their playoff position with victories. Others face an early chance to turn their seasons around. Most importantly, the schedule now gets tougher for everyone. That makes every Friday night more meaningful as September continues.
