Central Vietnam’s golf industry is preparing for one of its busiest seasons after Da Nang recorded impressive tourism growth during the first five months of 2026. Rising visitor numbers, improved travel access, and world-class golf facilities have strengthened the region’s reputation as one of Asia’s top golf destinations. Between January and May, Da Nang welcomed approximately 7.74 million visitors, marking a 20.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. International tourism fueled much of that growth, with 4.18 million overseas visitors, an increase of 23.6 percent. Meanwhile, domestic tourism also remained strong, attracting 3.55 million travelers, up 17.9 percent year over year. City officials also introduced Vietnam’s online pre-arrival information system at Da Nang International Airport. The digital system aims to simplify entry procedures for international travelers and improve the arrival experience. As a result, tourism leaders expect even stronger visitor numbers during the upcoming peak travel season.
The surge in tourism has created increased demand for golf vacations throughout Central Vietnam. Travelers now combine championship golf with luxury accommodations, fine dining, pristine beaches, and cultural attractions. The Vietnam Golf Coast features several internationally recognized golf courses designed by legendary architects. Golfers can experience layouts created by Colin Montgomerie, Luke Donald, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, and Robert Trent Jones Jr. Those signature courses continue attracting players from around the world. Beyond golf, visitors can also explore two of Vietnam’s most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Hoi An Ancient Town offers centuries of history, architecture, and culture. Meanwhile, My Son Sanctuary showcases ancient Hindu temples that date back more than a thousand years. Together, these attractions give travelers a complete destination that extends well beyond the golf course.
As peak golf season approaches, clubs throughout the Vietnam Golf Coast network have expanded their offerings with tournaments, special promotions, and unique playing experiences. Ba Na Hills Golf Club continues to stand out with its popular Night Golf program. Every Wednesday and Friday, golfers can play the Luke Donald-designed course under floodlights. Players may choose either nine or 18 holes while enjoying cooler evening temperatures. Following their round, golfers can relax with food and beverage options provided by the club. The evening experience has become one of the property’s signature attractions, especially during warmer months. The club recently completed its annual coring and summer maintenance program. Course conditions have recovered exceptionally well ahead of the busy season, giving players excellent playing surfaces throughout the layout.
Attention now shifts toward one of the club’s biggest annual events. The IMG Trophy Tournament 2026 will take place in September and feature 132 golfers. The tournament ranks among the club’s premier competitions and showcases both championship golf and Central Vietnam’s hospitality. Andrew McGregor, General Manager of Ba Na Hills Golf Club, expressed confidence heading into the season. He said the course recovered exceptionally well after maintenance and remains in outstanding condition. McGregor also highlighted Night Golf as one of the club’s defining experiences. Additionally, he believes the IMG Trophy Tournament demonstrates the high-quality golf, and hospitality visitors can expect throughout Central Vietnam. Meanwhile, Montgomerie Links Golf Club has finalized preparations for its 16th Club Championships, scheduled for August 22, 2026.
The annual event welcomes both club members and visiting golfers while supporting an important community initiative. This year’s tournament will raise funds for the club’s Green Hope program, which helps underprivileged students in Da Nang continue their education. Club officials believe the championship serves a greater purpose than simply crowning winners. Instead, it brings golfers together while creating meaningful opportunities to support local families and students. Le Vo Hoang Van, Club Manager of Montgomerie Links Golf Club, emphasized the tournament’s broader impact. He explained that the Club Championships have grown into much more than a competitive event. The tournament highlights everything that makes Central Vietnam an attractive golf destination while continuing to support a program that positively impacts the local community.
The club also offers golfers additional value throughout the season. Its Twilight Golf program allows players to enjoy the Colin Montgomerie-designed course during late afternoon hours. Green fees begin at VND750,000, making the experience more accessible while allowing golfers to avoid the hottest parts of the day. These expanded programs reflect the region’s growing confidence as tourism continues climbing. Improved domestic and international flight connections have made Da Nang easier to reach than ever before. At the same time, continued investments in tourism infrastructure and digital travel services have enhanced the overall visitor experience. As more travelers discover Central Vietnam, the region continues building a reputation for combining championship golf with luxury hospitality, scenic beaches, and rich cultural history.
With record tourism numbers, internationally acclaimed golf course designers, and a full calendar of tournaments and special events, the Vietnam Golf Coast enters peak season with strong momentum. Golfers visiting the region can expect outstanding course conditions, memorable playing experiences, and easy access to many of Vietnam’s most celebrated attractions. The continued growth of Da Nang’s tourism industry also positions Central Vietnam as one of Asia’s fastest-rising golf destinations. As investment continues and visitor numbers increase, the Vietnam Golf Coast appears well prepared for another successful and memorable season.
