Nikki Bella believes the final chapter of her legendary wrestling career has begun. After returning from an ankle injury on Friday’s episode of SmackDown, the WWE Hall of Famer shared that she expects to retire by the end of 2027. Although she still has goals left to accomplish, Bella said she feels comfortable with her decision and wants to make every remaining appearance count. Bella discussed her future during Monday’s episode of The Nikki & Brie Show. She explained that she sees roughly another year and a half in professional wrestling before stepping away for good. Instead of worrying about the finish line, she wants to enjoy every opportunity while leaving the industry in a better place than she found it.
Furthermore, Bella said she wants complete control over how her career ends. She hopes to pursue storylines and creative ideas that reflect her vision rather than simply accepting every direction. She admitted she no longer wants to wonder what could have happened if she had taken more chances. Instead, she plans to stand behind the ideas she believes deserve a place on WWE programming. Bella also explained that she wants to challenge herself throughout her remaining run. She intends to speak up for her creative vision and push for stories that carry meaning. She believes that approach will help her finish her career without regrets. Rather than following every expectation, Bella wants to take risks that allow her to leave wrestling on her own terms.
Her next opportunity arrives at SummerSlam this weekend. Bella will join her twin sister, Brie Bella, and Paige in a six-woman tag team match. The trio will face Fatal Influence in one of the premium live event’s featured matches. The contest gives Bella another chance to compete on one of WWE’s biggest stages while continuing her comeback from injury. Beyond winning matches, Bella wants her final run to strengthen women’s wrestling inside WWE. She said she hopes every performance reminds fans that the women’s division deserves major storylines and important matches. She also wants to help create memorable moments that inspire future generations of performers.
