The LPGA Tour is nearing the end of its 2025 season with only two tournaments remaining after the completion of the Asian swing. Both events are scheduled to take place in the state of Florida.
The next event on the schedule is The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, hosted by Annika Sörenstam, who many consider the greatest woman golfer of all time. The tournament will be played at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, formerly known as Belleair Country Club.
The tournament week kicks off on Wednesday with the traditional Pro-Am.
- Pro-Am Highlights: For the second consecutive year, WNBA star and Gainbridge ambassador Caitlin Clark will be participating. The Pro-Am, where amateur players are paired with an LPGA Tour star, will feature Clark’s fellow Indiana Fever teammates, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull, serving as honorary caddies.
- Course Details: The Pelican Golf Club plays as a Par 70 at 6,349 yards. It features only two Par 5s, one on each side of the course.
Tournament Field and Key Players
The field for The ANNIKA will begin with 108 world-class players.
- Defending Champion & Favorites: Last year’s winner, Nelly Korda, headlines the field. Though Korda has not yet won in 2025, she holds the best betting odds to successfully defend her title. The next two players with the best odds are Miyu Yamashita and Hye Jin Choi.
- High-Profile Debut: President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, will be making her LPGA Tour debut after receiving a sponsor exemption. The 18-year-old is a high school senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, and is scheduled to join the University of Miami women’s golf team starting in the fall of 2026.
- Amateur Exemptions: Joining the field is also Lauryn Nguyen from Northwestern University, who earned an exemption after helping her team win the 2024 NCAA National Championship.
- World Rankings: The field is strong, featuring 29 of the top 50 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, including five of the top 10:
- World No. 2: Nelly Korda
- World No. 4: Miyu Yamashita
- World No. 6: Charley Hull
- World No. 9: Mao Saigo
- World No. 10: Lottie Woad
Schedule and Logistics
Players will be competing for a generous $3.25 million purse.
- Practice Schedule: Practice rounds are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, and the golf course will be closed to the general public during this time.
- Pro-Am Access: The Pro-Am is on Wednesday, starting at 7:00 AM. Gates will open to the public at 6:45 AM.
- Tournament Rounds: For the first three days, official rounds will begin at 7:00 AM. The final round on Sunday will have a slightly later start time of 8:45 AM. The public is allowed entry 15 minutes before the first tee time.
- Weather Forecast: The weather is expected to be pleasant for Florida, with high temperatures not exceeding 77 degrees for the four competition rounds. The forecast shows no rain, and the wind is not anticipated to be a major factor.
The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is being played in its traditional spot on the tour calendar and is the penultimate event of the 2025 season. With a great field on an excellent course, the stage is set for an exciting competition leading to the crowning of the champion on Sunday.
