UCF pounds Pitt 45-14, extends nation’s longest winning streak to 17

As I crossed the Orange County Line today on my way to Spectrum Stadium in Orlando to cover the UCF Knights versus Pittsburgh Panthers game I began to realize we were in for an extra hot Central Florida afternoon. As temperatures soared to the upper 90s and lower 100’s in the heat index the UCF Knights offense got off to an equally hot start.

The Knights scored touchdowns on each of their first two possessions to get off to a quick 14-0 start en route to a 31-7 halftime lead. UCF starting quarterback, McKenzie Milton, threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns and ran it into the end zone for two more. The Junior from Kapolei, Hawaii has 12 touchdowns in his last two games, and in the process passed Blake Bortles for number four at UCF in career touchdowns. Milton has once again solidified himself as a Heisman candidate after suffering a lackluster outing in the Knight’s opener against South Carolina State.
