HBU Wraps Up Regular Season at Southeastern La.

HAMMOND, La. – HBU travels to face Southeastern Louisiana to wrap up the regular season with a four-game Southland Conference series Thursday through Saturday at Pat Kennelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Sophomore first baseman Brennen Bales ranks second in the league with a .388 batting average in conference play with five doubles, two triples, two home runs, 16 RBIs, and 21 runs for the Huskies. Senior rightfielder Brandon Bena is hitting .327 in league games, with seven doubles, five home runs, 19 RBIs, and 18 runs, while freshman shortstop Sebastian Trinidad is hitting .296 with eight doubles, a triple, 17 RBIs, and nine runs.

HBU is expected to start senior righthander Jacob Coats and sophomore righthanders Jared Burch and Daxton Tinker, with Saturday’s starter to be determined.

Tyler Finke is hitting .321 in conference play with eight doubles, four home runs, two triples, 23 RBIs, and 20 runs, while Christian Garcia is hitting .303 with nine doubles, five home runs, 22 RBIs, and 22 runs for the Lions. Evan Keller is hitting .302 with 11 doubles, a pair of home runs, 16 RBIs, and 26 runs, and Preston Faulkner has five doubles, four homers, a triple, 29 RBIs, and 22 runs.

SLU will likely start righthanders Will Warren, Brennan Stuprich, and Will Kenzeler, with Saturday’s starter to be determined.

Thursday’s opener begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader Friday and a 2 p.m. first pitch in Saturday’s finale.

SLU will turn around and host the 2021 Southland Conference Baseball Tournament Wednesday, May 26, through Saturday, May 29.
