HBU Baseball: Huskies Face Ragin’ Cajuns in Weekend Set

LAFAYETTE, La. – HBU will take on Louisiana in a three-game non-conference baseball series Friday through Sunday at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park.

The Huskies (1-6) are led by junior first baseman Jake Miller, who is hitting .333 with two doubles and five runs, and freshman shortstop Sebastian Trinidad, who is hitting .300 with four RBIs and three runs. Senior third baseman Nathan Soriano is hitting .296 with a home run, a triple, and five RBIs.
HBU will likely send sophomore righthander Tyler Zarella, senior righthander Jacob Coats, and sophomore righthander Daxton Tinker to the mound.

Carson Roccaforte is hitting .394 with three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, and five runs for UL, while CJ Willis is hitting .364 with four doubles, a triple, three RBIs, and seven runs. Ben Fitzgerald is hitting .333 with three doubles, a home run, three RBIs, and five runs, while Tyler Robertson has two home runs, five RBIs, and six runs and Connor Kimple has two home runs, three RBIs, and six runs.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are expected to start righthanders Hayden Durke, Spencer Arrighetti, and Carter Robinson.

After a midweek matchup at Rice on Tuesday, HBU begins Southland Conference play with a four-game series at New Orleans March 12-14
