The Sixers open up their season next week, and they have been in China for their last preseason action for the NBA China Games series. They have played two games against the Dallas Mavericks in China and really put on a show for the China natives. They split the series with the Mavs, but both games were definitely entertaining. The Sixers will open their season next Tuesday in Boston.

The Sixers played the Mavericks for the first time on October 5th and got the win 120-114. They got a dominating performance from JJ Redick, who did not miss any of his shots and ended up with 28 points. He also shot 7-7 from three-point range. Joel Embiid again had another great game with 22 points. Ben Simmons almost had a triple-double as he ended with nine points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists. Rookie, Landry Shamet continued to show fans that he is going to be a factor this year, as he scored 18 points.

The final of the two games was on October 8, and this time the Sixers lost 115-112. Embiid showed out in this one scoring 29. Even though he scored a lot, he did look a little shaky from three missing all six of his shots. Robert Covington ended with 18, and Simmons and Redick had 10 each. Despite the strong performance, it was not enough as the Mavericks won by three.

In their trip to China, the Sixers committed 35 fouls in each of the games. Markelle Fultz did not have a strong performance scoring only 10 points in the series. Redick stepped up greatly for him, and Embiid continued to show out. The Sixers end the preseason with a record of 2-1, as well as one win over Melbourne United that is not counted in that total.

The Sixers interacted with fans over in China and were definitely very involved with making this experience one to remember for the fans of China.

Joel Embiid really turned it up this preseason and seeing that he had a healthy summer of basketball and a healthy preseason, he will come ready to ball out at the beginning of the season. Fultz will get going, it might just take some time as this is really his first time starting the year healthy. Simmons looks fine, and he was very close to getting a few triple-doubles, so he looks to be in mid-season form. The standouts are Landry Shamet and JJ Redick. Redick showed out in China and Shamet played very well all preseason. Both are going to be able to contribute greatly to this team.
