The Boston College Eagles and the Vermont Catamounts have been invited to play in the 2018 National Invitation Tournament. For the Eagles, they are seeded fifth and will begin the tournament on the road on Wednesday night at Western Kentucky. The Vermont Catamounts also seeded fifth, will travel to Middle Tennessee to begin play.

Their opponent, out of Conference USA, are the Hilltoppers who finished their season at 24-10. They lost in the tournament final to Marshall University. Western Kentucky has four players who averaged double figures, led by Justin Johnson who dropped 15 points a game and grabbed nine boards a contest.
Western Kentucky scored an average of 78 points per outing, and a plus-eight in scoring margin. They were also a plus two on the glass. They committed 11 turnovers a game while handing out 13 assists a ballgame.
The Vermont Catamounts lost in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday afternoon as they were beaten at the buzzer by UMBC at home in the America East final. The Catamounts ended their year at 27-7. They were a plus 10 in scoring margin and a plus-five on the boards. Senior guard Tre Bell-Haynes is one of their on-court leaders averaging 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists a contest.

The good news for Vermont fans is the return of Anthony Lamb who has missed most of the season due to injury.
Middle Tennessee was once thought of as an NCAA tourney team but stumbled in the quarterfinal of the C-USA tournament losing to Southern Mississippi 71-68. They are led by two seniors, Nick King who averages 21 points per game, and Giddy Potts.
