The previous week in MLB focused on an outfielder who could be on the move very soon, a club in the American League hiring a new manager and pair of players winning some awards.
Marlins Have Trade Framework for Giancarlo Stanton with Cardinals And Giants
We could be nearing the end of the Giancarlo Stanton trade saga. The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals each met with the outfielder over the weekend to convince him to waive his no-trade clause.
The reasoning behind them meeting with Stanton is that the Miami Marlins have agreed to a general framework for trades with both the Giants and Cardinals, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

A decision by Stanton is the only thing holding up a potential deal for the Marlins with either club, and there has been no timetable set by either organization for Stanton to make up his mind, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Stanton holds all the cards in this situation as his no-trade clause provides plenty of leverage. He can decide not to go with either team and hold out for possibly the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Boone, who was a former player and analyst for ESPN will have the opportunity to lead the Yankees team that is very talented. They surprised plenty by advancing all the way to the American League Championship Series.
Boone is well-liked around the baseball industry for his personality and ability to communicate. He will have some high expectations going into the 2018 campaign as the Yankees believe they’re a World Series contender.
Boone doesn’t have any managerial experience but has been around the game of baseball for a long time. He’s also the son of former MLB catcher and manager Bob Boone.

Holland was sidelined for all of 2016 after having Tommy John surgery, while Moustakas was limited to playing in just 26 games during the 2016 campaign because of a torn ACL.
Holland was superb for the Rockies as he saved 41 games and compiled a 3.61 ERA in 57.1 innings pitched. He was selected as an All-Star for the third time in his career.
Moustakas was just as impressive for the Royals, by posting a .272 batting average and setting career-highs with 38 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 75 runs scored.
The exciting aspect regarding both players is they were teammates when the Royals won the World Series in 2015, and they’re free agents this offseason.
