Power 32 – Week 7 NFL Power Rankings

Before my weekly segment “Power 32” giving my NFL power rankings heading into Week 7, allow me to summarize what happened this past Sunday.  Week six was by far the craziest weekend on the NFL schedule so far!  Local newspapers and sports journalist weren’t short on topics Monday morning.

The best player in the league (Aaron Rodgers) went down, likely for the rest of the season ending the Packers hopes for another Super Bowl run.  The New York Giants lost their top three wide receivers and flew away from the “No Fly Zone” in Denver with their first victory of the year.  The Falcons and Raiders had two of the best offenses in the league in 2016 and both are suddenly falling out of the playoff picture.  The Dolphins franchise popped their annual champagne bottle, not because of the stunning road win but the fact that the Chiefs lost as the last unbeaten team this season.

The 49ers are 0 – 6 but have lost their last five games by a total combined 13 points!  The Saints were beating the Lions 41 – 10.  Then, comeback master Matthew Stafford led his team to within a touchdown late in the 4th quarter until he threw a pick-six in the end zone for his fifth turnover of the game.  New Orleans and Detroit combined for eight turnovers and 90 points (52 – 38).  Adrian Peterson decided his career isn’t over as he rushed for 134 yards and a couple TD’s in his Cardinals debut.  And perhaps the nuttiest thing of all, the Los Angeles Rams are for real.

There’s plenty more that went down Sunday in the NFL like rookie DeShaun Watson continuing to put up ridiculous numbers at the quarterback position.  Another rookie QB got his name in the papers as Mitchell Trubisky got his first win as a starter by throwing for a whopping 113 yards and incredible 8 for 16 passing (Sarcasm City).  Speaking of quarterbacks, Josh McCown passed for 354 yards and two touchdowns in a controversial loss to the Patriots.  Jets tight end Seferian-Jenkins got a touchdown called back for a fumble he never lost!  I can go on and on but my fingers will get tired from typing so much.  So without further ado here are the week 7 NFL power rankings.
