Yankees’ Torres to Miss 2017 Season Due to Tommy John Surgery
The New York Yankees have a farm system stocked with talented players. However, one on those prospects will have their season cut short.
The Yankees mentioned earlier this week that infielder Gleyber Torres will be out for the rest of the year as he needs Tommy John surgery.

The club has yet to schedule a date for the procedure, but the team expects he will be ready for spring training next year.
Torres was having a solid season in minors.
He had compiled a .287 batting average and .863 OPS with 14 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 34 RBIs in 55 games split between Double-A and Triple-A.
It was expected that Torres would’ve have been promoted later in the season by the Yankees.
Dodgers’ Urias Out 12-14 Months Due to Shoulder Surgery
The Los Angeles Dodgers won’t have pitcher Julio Urias available for the 2017 campaign. He will have surgery on Tuesday to repair his left anterior capsule, per the team’s Twitter account.
Julio Urías will have left anterior capsule surgery Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Neal El Attrache.

Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times provided some information on the severity of the injury:
Anterior capsule surgery effectively ended Johan Santana’s career as an ace. Chris Young came back from it.

Urias will be sidelined 12-14 months, per Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet.

The left-hander did make a couple of starts for the Dodgers this season, but the results weren’t impressive. He posted a 5.40 ERA in 23 1/3 innings (five starts) with 11 strikeouts, 14 walks issued and a 1.58 WHIP.
Urias is still a talented pitcher, who has a bright future. It will be a responsibility for the Dodgers to make sure he is healthy going into next year.
Tigers Release Rodriguez After Two Seasons
The Detroit Tigers released veteran reliever, Francisco Rodriguez on Friday.

Rodriguez posted a 7.82 ERA in 25 1/3 innings with nine home runs allowed, 11 walks surrendered, six blown saves and a 7.36 FIP.
He failed to replicate the success he achieved last season with the Tigers. Rodriguez tallied a 3.24 ERA in 58 1/3 innings with just six homers yielded, while saving 44 games in 49 chances.
It’s possible a change of scenery is what he needs and finding a new team shouldn’t be a problem.
A team with playoff aspirations that needs bullpen help would consider him as a viable option, considering Rodriguez has saved 437 games over his 16-year career.
