HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard second baseman Quinn Hoffman hits solo home run in 1st inning to start the scoring against Boston College starting pitcher Dan Metzdorf. In the bottom half of the inning Michael Strem hit an RBI double off Harvard pitcher Garrett Rupp into center field that scored right fielder Donovan Casey. First baseman Mitch Bigras singled into center field scoring Michael Strem.
  • Jake Alu reaches base on a single in the bottom of the 4th and proceeds to steal 2nd base, 3rd base, and home on a wild pitch off Harvard pitcher J.T. Bernard.
  • Harvard first bsaseman John McClean hit an RBI single to score Patrick McColl who reached on a leadoff double and then stole third base. The RBI single cut BC’s lead to 3-2 in the top of the 5th

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Three different pitchers pitched for Boston College despite only giving up two runs on four hits
  • Jake Alu has now stolen three bases in two games this season, the first coming against Villanova on March 5
  • The Eagles have now won their 13th Beanpot Title and their first since 2006. They are now 14-4-1 all time in the Beanpot final against Harvard.
