AFC and NFC South Previews: Week 12

These are the AFC and NFC South previews for week 12 in the NFL

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons (Thursday Night Game)

The Saints once against showed how good they can be at home as they defeated the tough San Francisco 49ers with a Garrett Hartley FG as time expired. They are undefeated at home and that may continue for the rest of the year so if you are the rest of the NFC, you better keep them out of that #1 seed. The Falcons continued their horrendous season by losing to the Buccaneers. Even though their playoff dreams are done, they would love nothing more but to punish the Saints in any way. They have nothing to play for, but also nothing to lose. Probably will be a closer game than you think.

Carolina Panthers at Miami Dolphins

The Panthers defense is real and they’re spectacular. I can’t talk and praise their defense anymore. I’m a defense 1st guy and they are my favorite defense to watch this year. However, it’s not just the defense doing it alone. The offense played very well against the Patriots on Monday night and they are definitely in the debate for 1 of the best teams in the NFC. The Dolphins pulled out a surprising win last week to pull even with the Jets for the final playoff spot in the AFC at 5-5. Now they play 1 of the stingiest defenses in the league. Can they pull another shocker off at home? Carolina is hot right now so it will not be easy.

Indianapolis Colts at Arizona Cardinals

The Colts rebounded from their horrible game against St Louis and a sluggish start last Thursday to beat the Tennessee Titans on the road. They will stay on the road and go across the country to face an Arizona team that hasn’t stood out, but just won’t go away. They have been average, if not below average, on the road, but have been very good at home. This game can go either way. The Cards have a good defense and the Colts obviously have Andrew Luck on their side. I see it as a FG type of game, either way. This will be a very interesting game to watch.

Tennessee Titans at Oakland Raiders

Week 12, the 5 days of disappointment that the Titans went through in weeks 9-10 ended their season in my opinion. Even though they are technically within a game of the final playoff spot, losing to Jacksonville, losing Locker for the year, and the Chris Johnson not running well for an entire game, I think they are done. Raiders won a surprising road game last week against Houston, now they return to the Black Hole.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

This may not be the most exciting game to watch, but the Bucs have won 2 in a row and they still do have a good rushing defense. The Lions need to bounce back from the tough loss to the Steelers last week, a game they looked to have in control. I still understand how sometimes Matt Stafford forgets he has the best WR in the game on his team. With no catches after a 179 yard 1st half, I blame the QB.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans

Well, what can you say about this game? Let’s just say it won’t be the CBS game of the week. The Jags are 1-9 and just playing out the season and playing for their own jobs, now that they got their 1 win out the way. The Texans pull a weird move by pulling Case Keenum last week when he wasn’t really playing that bad. It just seems like the coaching staff wants Schaub as the QB. In my opinion, he shouldn’t be.
