NFL Game Previews: Week 6

In a season that has been filled with surprises and disappointment for many teams and divisions across the NFL, no division has been filled with more surprises and disappointments than the NFC East. It is very shocking yet astonishing that a team currently leads the division with a 2-3 record considering how difficult yet competitive the NFC East has been in prior seasons. As we are now entering Week 6 of the 2013 NFL season, it is very fascinating to see what will happen to the New York Giants, who have been one of the more disappointing teams in the NFL this season as they are currently 0-5 and will look to avoid falling to 0-6 on the season when they play the Chicago Bears on Thursday night. It will be fascinating to see if the Philadelphia Eagles will attempt to even their record at 3-3 (they are currently 2-3) and hold on to their divisional lead.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4)
The Eagles are coming of an important 36-21 victory over the New York Giants in a battle of divisional rivals. Michael Vick left the game with an injury which forced Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly to bring backup quarterback Nick Foles into the game. This week will be the first week of the post Josh Freeman era in Tampa Bay. Buccaneers Head Coach Greg Schiano will gameplan a way to slow down the fast pace offense of the Eagles as the Bucs are 13th in the NFL defensively. It will be interesting to see if Vick will be healthy enough to play on Sunday or if Nick Foles will get the start at quarterback.

Washington Redskins (1-3) vs Dallas Cowboys (2-3)
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a tough loss against the Denver Broncos in which they had an opportunity to knock off the undefeated Broncos. The Redskins are coming off a bye week and will hope that the bye week will have provided Robert Griffin III much needed rest as he has struggled to start the season. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is coming off a good performance against the Broncos and will look to take advantage of an inconsistent Redskins defense especially with their running back DeMarco Murray who has been a huge lift for the Cowboys offense. The big question for this game will be can Griffin III begin to turn his season around return to his 2012 form.

New York Giants (0-5) vs Chicago Bears (3-2)
Both teams enter this game struggling but the New York Giants struggle this season has been well documented. They have struggled offensively with the lack of protection for Eli Manning and also the lack of a running game which is ranked dead last in the NFL. The Bears have also struggled of losing the previous two games after getting off to a 3-0 start. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has shown improvement throwing the ball this season but the Bears at times in their two game losing streak have struggled in key situations in ball games. The Giants if they are to have an hope this season of contending for a playoff spot must win in Chicago against a very good Bears defense that has had success getting to the quarterback.
