AFC/NFC South Previews: Week 4

These are the AFC/NFC South previews for week 4 in the NFL

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars

The new Colts offense was on display last week as they were able to turn themselves into a more physical team and pushed the 49er defense back. Now they get a much softer spot and they fly into Jacksonville for a divisional game against the Jaguars. This one should be over pretty fast as the Jags are on the fast track to the #1 pick in the draft. The only question is by how much they win by.

Arizona Cardinals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers are much better than their 3-0 record, but unfortunately, the wins and loss results seems to be all that matters as they have replace QB Josh Freeman with their rookie 3rd round draft pick, Mike Glennon. Arizona has been showing flashbacks of last year with their offensive line looking like Swiss cheese. They will have to keep Carson Palmer upright if they expect to be able to win some of these games with their heavy pass offense. Should be a close, FG type, game, I’m going with the home team.

New York Jets at Tennessee Titans

Who would have thought at the beginning of the year that the winner of this game would be 3-1 and rolling pretty good? The Jets have been in 3 close games and have played just well enough to take games late. The Titans have done it with good defense and an offense that has played well in the 2 minute drill of each half. Both teams could unbelievably be 3-0 and because I think they have a more veteran, established offense, and because they are at home, I’m going with the Titans, who have the tougher schedule coming up with KC, Sea, and SF up next before their bye.

Seattle Seahawks at Houston Texans

This is 1 of the really good games this week. The Seahawks are currently being held as the best team in the NFC, and they may be, but I still question them winning on the road against other good teams. The Texans once again were hurt by their conservative coach, Gary Kubiak, as they settled for short FGs and let Baltimore hang around until they gave the game away with a pick 6 and then a punt return TD. I’ve said numerous times in the past that Kubiak is what hold this team back. It may happen again this game.

New England Patriots at Atlanta Falcons (Sunday Night Game)

One of the more interesting games this week and the Patriots come into the game 3-0, yet, everyone is complaining about how they are winning and if you look at Tom Brady on the sidelines, you would think they were 0-3. The Falcons come in 1-2 and a loss this week could really put them in trouble in terms of rebounding. With New Orleans starting out 3-0 and playing a home game Monday night, they could wake up Tuesday morning, essentially, 4 games out of 1st place. Falcons win because they’re more desperate.

Miami Dolphins at New Orleans Saints (Monday Night Game)

This will be the clash of 2 undefeated 3-0 teams. The Dolphins won an impressive road game in Cleveland, then a very impressive road win in Indianapolis, and went home to beat a Falcon team that most thought was top 3 in the NFC. They have proven they are for real. The Saints seem to be back to normal with Sean Payton back on the sidelines and when they are at home, they are big trouble to stop. Even though Miami is for real, playing the Saints in that Superdome is a beast for Miami to overcome.
